Our Story

D.C. Johnson & Associates, Inc. was established in 1980 with the goal of providing land surveying services to specifically meet the needs of professionals involved in land acquisition and development.

We began with a specialized focus on a small number of clients primarily involved in subdivision design and development; design professionals such as engineers, architects, planners, project developers and investors. As we increased staff, we increased our client base to include site improvement contractors and builders for whom we provide a wide range of construction staking and survey services. We now provide services in any survey related area, including but not limited to real estate transfer and mortgage surveys, flood zone determination or modification surveys, title review and mapping and other survey related consulting or expert witness services.

In addition to our private sector clients, we also provide services to government entities including municipalities, counties and the State of Florida.

Since the early 1990’s, we have been awarded multiple contracts with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to provide large-scale boundary surveys for land acquisition, mean high water and ordinary high water surveys with related jurisdictional delineations, digitizing and mapping for appraisals and ownership identification, geodetic surveys, review of title policies, and preparation of legal descriptions. Our completed projects for FDEP have spanned a geographic area from Walton County to the Everglades.

Southwest Florida Water Management District (“SWFWMD”) has recognized our unique skills in facilitating complex real estate transactions with minimal supervision. In addition, our firm has had the opportunity to assist the District in 1) converting its wells and gauges from NGVD29 to NAVD88; 2) performing MFL (“Minimum Flows and Levels”) studies; 3) obtaining bathymetric data on numerous water bodies throughout the District; 4) test profiles for photogrammetric data; and 5) developing GLO cadastres for cooperative projects between the District and various counties.

Meeting the needs of our technically demanding clients has developed D.C. Johnson & Associates, Inc. into a team accustomed to providing a high level of responsible, professional service on a wide range of projects using the latest advances in field and office technology.
